Watch Airbnb's Kelowna Host Story

Airbnb's 30-second Host Story from Kelowna is now public. KFS supported the Kelowna and West Kelowna unit with local fixing, locations, permits, crew, transport and production logistics. Watch the finished film, then see what its compact neighbourhood story required on the ground.

Airbnb published the official Kelowna Host Story on August 7, 2026. The film follows host Deana through a neighbourhood recommendation built around locally grown produce and locally made treats.

In 30 seconds, the spot moves from introduction to place, people and a clear local detail. That compact result still depended on a working route through real Okanagan locations, with the production team, equipment and permissions arriving in the right order.

The local credit is specific.

Airbnb was the client, VML Canada was the agency, and Publicité Les Enfants was the production company. James Alton was credited as fixer for the Kelowna unit, with Kelowna Film Studios providing the local production support.

KFS handled the Kelowna and West Kelowna layer: fixing, locations, permits, crew, transport and production logistics. The originating creative and campaign production leadership stayed with VML Canada and Les Enfants.

A short film can have a long local checklist.

A finished 30-second spot does not show the route, access, parking, permit timing, transport or crew coordination behind each setup. Those details decide whether a visiting team can move between a market, a business, residential material and outdoor locations without losing the day.

Local fixing is most useful when those decisions are connected early. A location has to work for the shot, but it also has to work for the people, vehicles, equipment, sound and time available to make it.

Send the route, schedule and location needs first.

For a visiting branded-content team, send the story beats, dates, preferred neighbourhoods, talent needs, location references, crew footprint, vehicle count, sound requirements, agency and client monitoring needs, deliverables and weather fallback. That is enough to begin testing the regional plan before bookings harden.
