Kelowna Film Studios is reviewing contained thriller screenplays with a clear threat, active leads, escalating stakes and a practical production shape. Read the current brief before uploading one complete script.

A strong thriller pitch makes the threat, point of view and pressure clear before it explains every turn.

What fits the thriller brief.

  • The protagonist has agency and has to make difficult choices under pressure.

  • The antagonist or threat has a clear motive, even when the full plan is not revealed at once.

  • The first act establishes the danger and the story keeps building tension instead of waiting too long to begin.

  • The stakes feel credible and immediate. The premise should make the audience understand why this could happen to someone.

  • Twists are surprising but earned by what came before them.

  • The action is practical. Contained locations, a controlled cast and tension built through character and circumstance are stronger than stunt- or vehicle-dependent spectacle for this intake.

Upload one screenplay.

Prepare one PDF or Final Draft (.fdx) file up to 250 MB. Add a working title and compact logline that identifies the protagonist, threat, central conflict and stakes.

Confirm that you control the material and note whether it has been optioned, produced or submitted elsewhere. The file is stored privately for KFS review.

How thriller script submissions work.

Read the main Submit Your Scripts page, then upload one file through that dedicated form. The production contact form does not accept scripts or files.

Sending a pitch does not create confidentiality, representation, development, payment or production commitments. Read the Submitted Material Policy and the main Submit Your Scripts page before sending material.
